What is a double diode?

A double diode consists of two parts, a heated diode and a heater. The advantage of a double diode module is that neither diode can affect the other. The internal resistance of the diodes must also be low. Types of double diode modules are usually known as the SKKD series by Semikron as a double diode by Semikron.

A double diode is an electronic component that has two ends, and allows electric current to pass through it in one direction (in this case, the resistance of the diode is negligible) and in the other direction, it exhibits a very high resistance (ideally, infinite) to the passage of current.

This property of the diode caused it to be called a "gate" in the early years of the manufacture of this electronic component. The terminal connected to the N-type semiconductor is called the "cathode" and the terminal connected to the P-type semiconductor is called the "anode". The diode is the first device manufactured with semiconductors.
