Gear couplings are generally used for a wide range of power, torque and working temperature. However, gear couplings, which are pre-built by predominantly manufacturing companies, are provided for power up to 2.4 MV. The revolution of these couplings can be from 1300 for high power up to 7000 rpm for power less than 65 kW. These couplings can handle up to 160,000 Nm of torque. Gear couplings have an unbalanced, angular tolerance of up to 1 degree for each hub.
