C Class

This arrester (surge protection) is used for protection against switching, in fact this arrester is used as secondary protection against overvoltage and eliminates leakage voltage of class B arresters it also transfer the over voltage to the ground.
Surge arrester Type 2 class C(V 20-C) to VDE 0675 part 6-11 (DIN EN 61643-11) is designed so that it makes an interface between the conductor and the ground and reduces the voltage in electrical devices. Serge arrester class C is unipolar and protect electrical equipment from lightning and when the applied voltage is changing.
